Tutorial for Smiling Snackies (Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Milk)
🧶 Wooly Nest Basic Felting Guide
(Peanut Butter • Jelly Toast • Milk Set)
✨ What You’re Making
- Peanut Butter Buddy
- Jelly Bread
- Milk Gallon
Each character is made using the same simple technique — just different shapes.
🪡 Tools Needed
- Felting needle
- Felting pad
- Wool pieces (included)
🧠 Before You Start
- Always poke straight up and down (don’t bend the needle)
- Start loose, then slowly firm it up
- Take your time — felting is relaxing, not rushed 🙂
🧱 Step 1: Make the Base Shape
Peanut Butter (Cylinder)
- Roll wool into a ball
- Gently shape into a short cylinder
- Poke evenly all around to firm it up
Jelly Bread (Flat Square)
- Roll wool into a ball
- Flatten into a rounded square
- Keep edges soft — don’t over-sharpen
Milk Gallon (Rounded Rectangle)
- Roll wool into a ball
- Shape into a tall rounded block
- Slightly flatten the front and back
🎨 Step 2: Add Color Details
Peanut Butter
- Add a light blue lid on top
- Add a front label patch
- Felt a small peanut shape onto the label
Jelly Toast
- Add a brown crust border
- Add a purple jelly blob in the center
👉 Keep it slightly uneven for a “melty” look
Milk
- Add a red cap
- Add a red band around the middle
- Lightly shape the handle on the side
😊 Step 3: Add the Face
For ALL characters:
- Use tiny pieces of black wool
- Gently poke to create:
- Two small eyes
- A simple smile
👉 Keep faces minimal — less is cuter
✋ Step 4: Arms & Feet
- Roll tiny wool balls
- Attach by poking into the body
- Keep them small and rounded
🔒 Final Touch
- Lightly poke the entire piece to:
- Smooth loose fibers
- Firm up the shape
🎉 You’re Done!
Each character should feel:
- Soft but firm
- Slightly fuzzy
- Full of personality
💡 Pro Tip
No two will look the same — that’s the magic.
Your version is the “perfect” version.
